Hear up to date information on trade, business opportunities and current events in Solomon Islands.

The Australian government has committed to the Solomon Islands Infrastructure Program (SIIP) as a AUD250 million program over 10 years and a new local content strategy has been developed. The multilaterally funded Tina River hydroelectricity project is under construction with an associated Australian funded transmission line. Additional sectoral opportunities include services, tourism development, sustainable forestry, agri-industry and fisheries.  It is also a good time for mining services companies to be positioning themselves for possible growth in the mining sector in gold, nickel and bauxite.  Construction of the Coral Sea undersea fibre-optic communications cable completed in 2019 has improved business connectivity between Australia and Solomon Islands.  The economy is slowly recovering from the impact of Covid-19 related border closures aided by a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects to be developed over the next 5 years.  In addition to providing key information about prospective business opportunities, the Forum brings together key business and government representatives from Australia and Solomon Islands and provides a unique opportunity for networking and exploring business opportunities.  It is a timely opportunity to meet members of the new Solomon Islands Government elected in May 2024 under new Prime Minister the Hon Jeremiah Manele.

Delegate registration includes access to the speaker program on 3 and 4 September, as well as informal stand up breakfast, morning tea, informal luncheon, afternoon tea and conference Dinner on 3 September, and stand up breakfast, morning tea, informal luncheon, afternoon tea and Closing drinks on 4 September.
